Okay, this might sound a little crazy but the best advice I can give you is to be creative or hire an instructor. I'm in flag corps. at my high school and the captains made all of our routines. They are really good and our flag corps. win Sweepstakes and 1st place prizes. So, anyways, right now since you haven't done a lot of work with a flag, you'd probably be better off hiring an instructor like Veronica has said, or, you can be very creative and try your own stuff. Who knows? Maybe you might come up with something really great! Best of luck! P.S. Here's a tip you might be able to use on throwing a flag: have your flag at an angle with you flag close to the ground. Have your left hand holding the bottom of the flag pole with your palm facing down and your right hand at the base of the flag with your palm up. Use your right hand to push the flag up while using your left hand to push the pole down. Don't forget to let go. Using more force on your right hand will cause it to turn faster and with more height. Don't be scared to catch the flag! You'd probably would rather catch it than having it smack your head.
