Hi. Jumped in mid-conversation when I posted before. I just read your original message. I don't know where 6' is standard, but I'm a coach now and we've used 5' poles since i started guard. It'll be a lot easier for 6th graders to handle so that's the height I would recommend. I mentioned the Fred J. Miller guard videos in my other posting, just wanted to update and say that they put out a twirl & dance video too.
