Hey Sarah! Trust me noone is amazing when they first start spinning! If you don't have a guard at your school I suggest buying a flag and flag pole ( i would start learning flag before weapon) and then go to www.wgi.org...they have a flag technique tape you can buy, as well as dance,rifle and sabre! As far as Indepedant guards go in Texas...I am not sure who is down there...but I know there are a few! Wish I could help more! Good Luck!

: hey, im 14 and a frehsman in high school, i wasnt in gaurd this year, and my school doesnt have a winter gaurd, so wanta be in gaurd when im a soph. but im afraid ill be behind, and hurt myself, and all that wonderful stuff. so i was just wondering if anyone has ANY advice about flags, or gaurd, or camps, or independant gaurds, or clinics or anything, ill take anything and everything!! thanks alot you guys!
