I'm only a Sophomore and it's my second year in guard,
so you could understand that I bacame scared and nervous
at the same time when I was appointed head ID/co-captian.
I thought that if I didn't yell and tried to explain things
to the rest of the Letter girls (there's only five others)
then we could have a nice year with no one trying to make
everyone elses job harder than it already is. Boy was I
wrong!!! The only two who will listen to me are the alternate
(who I've known for a year) and a returning letter girl.
The other three will not obey a command, even if it comes from
the drum major or our instructor. To make it worse, every time
our advisor or instructor wants to change a part of our routine
that can't be changed, I try to tell them (my instructor and my
advisor) and the only one who will listen is my advisor. Even
then, some times it takes my instructor days or weeks before he
will listen. He created a band council so that we can work out any
problems, but that hasn't helped since we only had one meeting.
Thanks for your advice.
